No porn.
I happen to know for a fact that you have more than just porn in your collection. Post those if you want.

Trust me on this one, Ris is right to push you towards doing this kind of stuff. It took some time after our conversation about entering Black Library's writing contest for me to realize that Ris was right about that one too.

Ultimately, it's better to try and fail and feel sorry about it, than not try and feel sorry for not trying.
Also, Muffin, where's your inners Slaaneshi sense of fun?

Re: Heresy here
Even if you fail, practice is practice and is always worth it. An extra set of criticism (not insults) from a new source is always helpful as well.

Re: Heresy here
Well for one, I don't really feel like entering this... so I'd make a half-assed work and I don't want that.
For the other, I'm not really in my prime of scribbling right now... I've done better works... give me some time and I'll come back I hope.
And for a third reason: this is not the way that I want to get attention.

It's ultimately your choice Muffin. We're not going to force you. You'll just gonna have to deal with your doubts later on.

Re: Heresy here
Or perhaps no doubts either. I have little regrets over not entering Black Library's writing contests, but am able to look back and realize that failing that contest wouldn't have done anything more than get me back into writing things, sooner. You don't have to accept the attention or you can give some excuse about it not being your best work and enter anyways. If you want to get back to where you once were, the extra practice (and perhaps a challenge to draw something new) can only count as practice towards that goal.
But Ris is right that, ultimately, it is your decision. I hope I'm not pressuring you too much, as I don't want you to feel pressured into this, but I would like to point out that there are positive reasons to enter, even if you think you're just going to lose anyway. I'd actually argue that there are even more positive reasons to enter under those circumstances, than if you were certain you would win. However, I'll leave it there, as it is your decision Muffin, and I do not wish to pressure you too much.

That's not really my way of manipulating people, but we can give it a try...Farseer Amathar wrote:Or perhaps no doubts either. Re: Heresy here
85 on a dice... I guess that's a fail on 40k RPG standards.

Re: Heresy here
I don't want to pressure her, and I was just being honest. There is a small amount of regret at not getting things started sooner, and I remember fumbling over the same problems of not knowing what to create for the contest. Would they even consider the story I'm (lazily) working on? Only now, much later and all too late, I realize that I could have done anything, even the story I'm (lazily) working on and just not given a care if I won or lost. And like I said, honestly: the practice is the justification in itself. Like Bruce Lee said: "Every day you have a chance to make yourself better, if you don't, you become worse." And I've already spent too long becoming worse at writing.
In short: I'm not trying to manipulate, just give some friendly and honest advice. Like an adviser or something....
Wait? A B average is a fail? Man is 40k a harsh universe. As far as I understand with each side of a d6 being roughly 16.5%, you just rolled a six. How is that a fail?

Re: Heresy here
And that's a good manipulation attempt.
In 40k RPG, as well as WFRP 1&2 eds. the chances are inverted.
1. you use d100 instead of d6s
2. common human have 30% chance on anything (yes, I take into account that you're an Eldar Farseer)
3. you must roll below your %chance to succed.
85 is a bad roll by that standards, sorry.

Re: Heresy here
Manipulative or not, it is the truth.
Ah. That makes sense. I'm used to most systems where a highest number is a natural success. Also I just wanted to make a joke about percents and dice.

Fine. Anyone that gets the reference will get it anyway, anyone that doesn't, doesn't need to either.
